Highfield Level 2 Award in Introduction to First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)
As a knowledge-only course, the Level 2 qualification in First Aid for Mental Health provides individuals with the tools required to support both their own and others mental wellbeing, primarily in the workplace.
About The Course:
This course is designed for first aiders who want to begin providing basic support for mental health, typically in the workplace. It is ideal not only for those already in employment but also for those who are planning to take on a new role as a first aider.
It is important to note that this qualification does not provide individuals with the clinical qualifications they require to assess, diagnose or treat mental ill-health. Instead, it is suited to first aiders who need the basic knowledge and tools to support those who are in need of first response support for their mental health.

This knowledge-only course will cover many topics, including the following:
- Introductory knowledge and understanding regarding the principles of first aid for mental health
- How to recognise mental ill-health in both yourself and others
- The importance of resilience and self-care for first aiders for mental health
- How to support mental wellbeing in the workplace and encourage a positive company culture
Course Details:
The Level 2 course in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) is priced at £175 per person and runs across two full days. Our classes sizes are between 5 and 12 learners, so we can accommodate larger groups for companies who want to train several employees during the same sessions.
To gain this qualification, learners must complete two multiple-choice examinations, which will then be marked and awarded by Highfield.
