About The Course:
The Highfield Level 2 certification in becoming a Security Officer in the Private Security Industry has been designed to meet the requirements created by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). This means that on completion of your course, you will have the knowledge and skills required to become an SIA licensed Security Officer.
This course will be split into three units; these are the following:
- Unit 1: Working in the Private Security Industry
- Unit 2: Working as a Security Officer
- Unit 3: Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry

Throughout your training, many topics will be covered, ensuring that you can gauge an in-depth understanding of each unit. Topics include:
- Characteristics of the Private Security Industry
- The roles and responsibilities of Security Officers
- Legislations regarding drugs misuse
- The importance of safe working practices
- Procedures involved in being a Security Officer
- How to carry out effective search procedures
- How to conduct queue management
- How to recognise, assess and reduce risks in an array of conflict-related situations
- Problem-solving techniques used to resolve conflicts
Course Details:
This course has a minimum class size of 5 and a maximum of 20, pricing at £250 per person. It runs across 4 days and involves both practical assessments along with multiple-choice examinations.
In order to apply for this course, individuals must be over the age of 16. For those who plan to gain their SIA licence afterwards, it is important to keep in mind that you must be 18 or over to apply. We also ask that learners have a sufficient level of English reading and writing skills.
